My thanks to the veritable flood of emails which informed me the website was down recently. Took a little tracking down but I’m reasonably sure we have killed the problem.
Sure, I enjoy a solid, friendly poker game now and again. I have some Paulson’s Top Hat & Cane chips (pictured), some KEM playing cards, and a home made poker table to slide those cards across. Always a good time and worth the effort. So, six of us played a quick Texas Hold’em style tourney with a $20 buy-in gets you $1500 in chips. With a standard blind structure and a timer provided by DD Poker, things were off and running. About three hours in, I’d amassed a significant chip lead and only one player threatened as we moved into heads-up action. However, it didn’t take long. A couple of bad decisions later and a cold run of cards, I found myself on the short stack. The killing blow came with the final hand of the night where, on an all-in bet, I showed two pair while my opponent nailed a straight. Tough beat but that is poker.
Yeah, I let network TV wash over me now and again. Yes, I watch American Idol. Just took in the finale. Great 2-hour show, building anticipation for the big event. Stars, more stars, and then … then … Kris won. What the … ? Adam was clearly the superior artist; not even close. What a freakin’ let down. Kris was good but Adam was mucho gusto better.
Josh, glad to see you on Twitter. Should have known you’d be keeping up with the “in” crowd. Are you piping your stuff to your blog or just throwing tweets out on the net? Inquiring minds want all the dirt.
Interesting thing happened on the way to normal life. I was locked out of my WordPress blog with a suspicious redirect issue. Got a pretty good idea what happened and continue investigating the logs to narrow down my response. However, fixed the issue with a little effort. Glad to be back.
