Yeah, I’m sold. Hooked, even. You won’t ever catch in in a golf store actually buying a club, ever again. No way. Not a chance. Not since I discovered the plethora (overused term) of deals to be had on eBay. Yup, I’m pimping eBay again.
Since being bitten by the golf bug again, I’ve purchased and sold several clubs over the last couple of months on eBay. I purchased my excellent, confidence inspiring brand new Ping G2 15.5* driver (which I kept because I paid soooo little and I hit it soooooo far). I bought a used TaylorMade 22* dual hybrid (which I kept because it is much easier to hit than my 3-iron). I purchased a used TaylorMade 19* dual hybrid (which didn’t work out, so I resold it for a minor profit). I purchased a used Cleveland 60* lob wedge (which I kept because I need an open faced, sand shredding club). I purchased a brand new Scotty Cameron Studio Style Newport 2.5 putter (which I have no business owning, so I’m selling it right now – for a minor loss). I purchased a brand new Ping G5 18* fairway wood (which I cannot hit so sold it for a profit). I purchased a used Ping G5 15* fairway wood (which I’m keeping because I hit it really, really far). Finally, I purchased a brand new Cleveland 52* gap wedge (which I may end up selling, not sure yet).
So, your thinking, where the hell does he get the money to buy all these clubs? Well, I sold a bunch of junk lying around my house, which enabled this golf spending spree. Best part? Ebay clubs are cheap (if you take a little time to watch the market). All of these clubs were purchased at excellent prices (including shipping) and I’m just having a ball. What can I say, I’m addicted to this process. I’ve got my eye on some new Cleveland Halo hybrids … they look very, very nice.
