Well, I’ve discovered what can only be described as a little hitch in my giddy-up since moving to Windows Vista. It appears all programs don’t support Vista. Now, c’mon. I was aware of this particular situations. It’s not like everyone went out and made sure their programs matched up with Vista; however, you’d expect major carries to do that.
I speak, of course, of the great programs, the ones which are household names such as Norton Anti-Virus, Microsoft Word and Excel, AdAware, and not forgetting Zone Alarm. Uh, wait. Zone Alarm doesn’t have a working version of its firewall program which will work in place of the Windows firewall? Nothing? Nada? What the … ?
Yup. So, before you switch to Vista, be sure you have alternate methods of safety installed on your system because if you lean on Zone Alarm for your firewall, you might be disappointed. (It should be noted some people have reported no problem with the free version of Zone Alarm working on Vista — it is just a pain in the ass for the rest of us.)
